About the Role

The successful candidate will edit questions and detailed explanations crafted by our professional educators and specialists. This includes content for AP Spanish and other Advanced Placement courses, SAT/ACT, accounting, finance exams, and extensive study guides covering these subjects.

• Error Detection & Content Analysis: You excel at spotting errors in dense manuscripts aimed at specialized audiences and can identify structural and logical gaps, providing clear feedback.
• Editorial Experience: You have at least three years editing published educational material, with a minimum of two years focusing on high school curriculum, accounting, or finance, following detailed style guides.
• Language Fluency: You are a native or native-like Spanish speaker with a strong command suited for academic writing scenarios.
• Multitasking Abilities: You manage multiple tasks effectively within tight deadlines.
• Collaborative & Independent: You are a positive team player who also thrives working independently, providing constructive feedback and receiving critique graciously.
• Educational Background: You hold at least a 4-year degree in linguistics, English, Spanish, journalism, or a related field.
• Professional Motivation: Discipline and a desire to learn are core to your work ethic. You enjoy reading and continuous learning.

Primary Job Duties

Technical & Quality Assurance (80%)

• Edit materials to enhance clarity, logical flow, and adherence to style guides, covering content related to SAT/ACT, AP, CPA, and CFA exams.
• Correct grammar, punctuation, redundancy, and ensure stylistic consistency.

Collaboration & Consultation (20%)

• Offer constructive suggestions to authors and fellow editors for substantive improvements.
• Assist in establishing style and format guidelines for various projects.

Working with Visual Materials (10%)

• Edit video captions, slide decks, flashcards, and related educational materials as needed.

Limitations & Requirements

Applicants must have proven editing experience in educational content both in English and Spanish. Individuals engaged solely in corporate communication, literary editing, teaching, or writing without relevant editing experience will not be considered.

This position offers flexibility as either a:

• Part-time remote contractor, or
• Full-time employee working in our beautiful Dallas, TX home office with a one-day work-from-home option.
