Temp to Perm or Perm Position. Reporting directly to the Senior HR Manager and supporting our West region, the business partner is an experienced HR professional, who has a broad experience in human resources. The partner builds a valuable relationship with internal customers and transfers requests and solutions to/from the plant, support functions, shared services, and corporate. The position fosters partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added service and support. The partner supports and works collaboratively with the SHRM. The partner actively supports discussions and transfers HR best practices to and from different plants and functions in the organization. The Partner assesses and anticipates HR-related needs communicating proactively with the HR department and their designated HR Region to develop integrated solutions that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

Major Responsibilities

  • Builds a strong business relationship with internal customers to include operations, SSC, support functions, and corporate. Must be able to engage with all levels of the organization, including production hourly employees.
  • Acts as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in people management.
  • Administers human resource plans, programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Provides training for employees regarding company policies and compliance topics, supervisor/manager development, and other subjects as identified.
  • Manages workers comp issues in coordination with the safety team and brings timely resolution to claims.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues with support from SHRM. Conducts effective, thorough, timely, and objective investigations.
  • Responsible for separation processes including exit interviews, employment documents, payroll coordination and meetings as employees transition out of Bodycote.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of CA legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs. Participates in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.

We Are Seeking Candidates With The Following Qualifications

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • Bachelor's degree (ideally in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline in which business knowledge and an understanding of human resource practices are gained); PHR preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of increasing HR generalist responsibility, i.e. must have touched several of the key areas of HR supporting a business: handling employee relations, compensation decisions, recruiting, and performance management.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish
  • Multisite experience is a plus. In-person visits to plant sites to support the implementation of strategic HR plans, investigations, and terminations and handle other HR-specific needs.
  • Must be willing to walk the production floor and engage with employees proactively.
  • Systems savvy' comfortable with the use of IT in HR, and automation.
  • Sound knowledge of US Federal and State labor laws.
  • Strong working knowledge of CA labor laws and practices.
