Are you a performer, teacher, or creative individual with an upbeat outlook? We're looking for passionate bilingual (English/Spanish) tutors to help bring our unique storytelling approach to teaching chess to children in New York City.

About Story Time Chess 🧩

Story Time Chess is the only program worldwide that teaches children as young as 3 to play chess through engaging and silly storytelling. No need to be a chess master — if you can tell a story, you can teach with us! We're expanding rapidly, reaching over 15,000 children weekly across NYC, LA, and beyond.

Now, we invite energetic and dedicated bilingual tutors to join our mission and make a meaningful impact in families' lives.

What You'll Do 🏆

• Teach kids (ages 3–10): Introduce them to chess using our fun, story-based method
• Utilize bilingual skills: Connect with Spanish-speaking families and communities
• Deliver lessons: Conduct in-home and in-school sessions using our ready-made curriculum
• Build relationships: Foster meaningful connections with families, children, and our community

What We're Looking For 🔍

• Bilingual proficiency: Fluent in both Spanish and English
• Kids' entertainer: Animated, fun, full of heart, and great with children
• Experience: Background as a teacher, tutor, performer, or early childhood professional
• Self-starter: Organized, responsible, proactive mind-set
• Additional skills: Hospitality, customer service, or community-building experience is a plus
• Knowledge of chess: Helpful but not required
• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
• Background check: Must pass

Details & Compensation 💼

• Starting Rate: $40/hour
• Top Tutors: Earn up to $2,100/week
• Position: Part-time contractor with potential to become full-time
• Schedule: Flexible, including after school, weekends, and your preferred hours
