Position Overview
ATHENA Consulting is sourcing qualified candidates for an assignment with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
The selected candidate will be employed by SQN Systems and assigned to DHHS under a subcontracting partnership, with all payroll, benefits, and employment matters managed by SQN Systems.

Schedule
- Tuesdays & Thursdays: Afternoon until 9:15 p.m.
- Wednesdays & Thursdays: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (as scheduled)
Evening and weekend availability is required.
Position Summary
The Offender Intervention Program seeks licensed clinical professionals to deliver group and individual therapy to court-mandated clients who are perpetrators of violence.
This role is focused exclusively on working with offenders, not victims, and requires expertise in intervention therapy, group facilitation, and trauma-informed practices.
Candidates must have relevant experience working with offender populations, domestic violence cases, and court-involved clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate group and individual therapy sessions for court-ordered clients
- Develop, implement, and monitor intervention strategies to address violent behaviors
- Maintain accurate client records in compliance with legal and program standards
- Collaborate with court officials, probation officers, and program staff to monitor compliance and client progress
- Apply trauma-informed approaches when working with mandated clients
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Maryland license: LCSW-C, LMSW, or LCPC (clinical required)
- LGPCs are not eligible
- Experience working with mandated clients and offender populations
- Strong preference for experience with domestic violence and court-involved clients
- Skilled in group facilitation and intervention therapy
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and court-mandated treatment
- Bilingual in Spanish: Fluency is REQUIRED
- Pass a bilingual assessment (Spanish ↔ English translation, both written and verbal) during hiring
Additional Information
Evening and weekend availability are mandatory. This role involves no interaction with victims; it is focused solely on perpetrators.
