Job Title: Bilingual Financial Wellbeing Coach – Small Business

Department: HOPE Program Operations

Accountability: Reports to the Director of Operations

Operation HOPE is a non-profit dedicated to fostering economic empowerment and financial inclusion. Our small business programs aim to support entrepreneurs and small business owners in building sustainable enterprises that bolster their communities' economic growth.

Position Overview 🚀

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Small Business Coach to join our team. This role involves guiding aspiring and existing small business owners through tailored one-on-one coaching, sharing vital knowledge, resources, and fostering a culture of growth and success. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish, capable of engaging diverse audiences through effective communication. Their entrepreneurial journey will serve as inspiration, helping clients navigate challenges, develop robust business plans, and implement sustainable strategies.

Key Responsibilities 📋

Individual Coaching 🤝

  • Build and maintain client relationships, keeping plans updated and recruiting new clients continuously.
  • Analyze financial data to develop strategies aligned with clients’ financial goals.
  • Guide clients in business plan development, operations, marketing, and growth.

Training and Workshops 🎓

  • Facilitate small business workshops on credit, money management, and entrepreneurship topics.
  • Answer clients' questions about financial plans and strategies.
  • Deliver engaging 8-week Business Development programs as scheduled throughout the year.

Resource Connection 🔗

  • Connect clients with relevant resources, networks, and support services.
  • Stay informed about government grants, programs, and opportunities for entrepreneurs.
  • Collaborate with community partners to strengthen support for small businesses.

Monitoring & Evaluation 📊

  • Track progress through coaching sessions and assessments.
  • Evaluate program impact, including business graduates and new business creation.
  • Provide feedback and update coaching plans accordingly.

Networking & Community Engagement 🌐

  • Build relationships with local businesses, chambers of commerce, and community organizations.
  • Represent Operation HOPE at networking events to increase program visibility.

Language & Cultural Skills 🗣️

Fluent in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to engage effectively with Hispanic and Latino communities, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and clarity. Must have strong networking skills to facilitate accessibility for Spanish-speaking stakeholders.

Qualifications 🎓

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; alternatively, 2+ years experience in the financial industry.
  • Flexible to deliver evening workshops based on client needs.
  • Ability to meet monthly and yearly production goals.
  • Proven experience in small business coaching, consulting, or entrepreneurship.
  • Strong knowledge of business planning, financial management, and marketing strategies.
  • Empathy and understanding of small business owners' challenges.
  • Excellent presentation skills in person and virtually.
  • Cultural competency to support diverse backgrounds.
  • Multi-tasking ability for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Personal transportation for travel within the designated market area.
