Role Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant aids the Speech Language Pathologist in delivering speech and language services. This role involves clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment activities, all performed within the scope of responsibilities and care plan assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist and/or physician.

Minimum Requirements

  • 🎓 Educational Background: Graduate of a SLPA program with an associate’s degree, or hold a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders.
  • Clinical Experience: Successful completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork or equivalent clinical experience as mandated by state or contract.
  • 📝 Licensure & Certification: Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the practice location.
  • 🌟 Professional Standards: Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • 📝 Experience: One (1) year of prior professional SLPA experience preferred.
  • 🩺 Health & Safety Requirements: TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable, and current health certificate in accordance with contract or state regulation.
  • 📜 Regulatory Compliance: Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • 🎂 Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
