Position Overview

The Sales Representative educates and assists eligible individuals in obtaining affordable healthcare coverage. You will help new members understand their options, assist with enrollment, and support existing members with recertification and benefits education, all aligned with the ACA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Educational & Enrollment Support 📚

• Guide qualified individuals through applying for coverage via the NY State of Health Marketplace, including Medicaid and Child Health Plus.
• Assist applicants with contacting Customer Service and verifying documentation.
• Conduct outreach to raise awareness of available QHPs and benefits.
• Explain eligibility, premium tax credits, cost-sharing, and metal tiers within the Marketplace.
• Participate in community forums, workshops, and presentations.
• Support document submission processes via scan, fax, or mail.
• Help existing members with recertification and premium payments.

Regulatory & Compliance 🛡️

• Ensure confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
• Stay updated with industry regulations, ACA requirements, and participate in ongoing training and webinars.
• Maintain discretion and compliance with all relevant federal and state statutes.

Tactical & Administrative Duties

• Use daily tracking tools to monitor activity and follow-up on leads.
• Manage applications ensuring timely follow-through.
• Review and update consumer inquiries through MetroPlus “Marketplus” lead management system.
• Enter applicant demographic and enrollment data accurately into the portal.
• Maintain educational collateral and stay informed about Marketplace functionalities.

Minimum Qualifications ✅

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of sales or customer relations experience.
• Compliance with conflict-of-interest standards.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Licensure & Certification 📜

• Completion of NY State of Health approved training program and certification.
• Annual recertification as a MFE is mandatory.
