Description
The Sales Representative will be responsible for marketing Class Produce Group products to new customers and maintaining relationships with existing clients. Providing outstanding customer service to all clients is a key part of the role, ensuring that every interaction fosters loyalty and growth.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition: Secure new accounts by actively exploring the field, taking initial and repeat orders, and managing daily and weekly schedules efficiently to meet potential and current clients.
- Order Management: Submit orders via in-person, fax, phone, or email, double-check accuracy, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Reporting & Analysis: Keep management informed with activity reports, call logs, work plans, and competitive analyses to identify market trends.
- Competitive Monitoring: Gather marketplace intelligence on pricing, product offerings, and merchandising techniques to stay ahead of the competition.
- Customer Partnership: Collaborate with clients strategically to grow their business using a consultative approach.
- Product & Service Recommendations: Suggest product or policy modifications based on results and competitive insights.
- Customer Issue Resolution: Investigate complaints, develop solutions, and communicate findings to management to ensure customer delight.

Requirements
- Education: College degree preferred but not required; proficiency in MS Office required; knowledge of Prophet is a plus.
- Experience & Skills: Minimum of 3 years in produce sales; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Licenses & Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Customer Skills: Excellent customer service, sales goal achievement, closing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Territory Management: Ability to prospect and manage client territories effectively.
Working Conditions
The role involves both office work and on-site visits to customer locations. Regular local and regional travel is expected to meet clients in person. The work environment varies from office settings with moderate noise to diverse customer environments such as retail stores and warehouses.
Daily tasks include computer and phone use, interacting with staff, candidates, and vendors. The position is largely sedentary with some travel responsibilities.
