Job Summary 🔍
This outside sales position involves promoting Sysco's products and services while building strong relationships with new and existing accounts. Your main goal is to help our customers succeed and meet sales and profit targets. Flexibility to work some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) may be required to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities 📋
- Develop new business, deepen current accounts, and minimize lost opportunities to drive profitable growth within your territory.
- Identify and qualify prospects in line with company account goals.
- Research customer needs and recommend tailored products and services.
- Analyze market trends and advise customers on suitable product selections.
- Stay informed on market conditions, product innovations, and competitive landscape; share insights with customers.
- Address customer inquiries about products, pricing, inventory, and usage.
- Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
- Travel to customer sites, conventions, and company meetings using your personal vehicle.
- Collaborate with the credit department to collect accounts receivable in a timely manner.
- Manage deliveries according to the routing schedule and troubleshoot issues like stock shortages or special orders.
- Participate in company events, promotions, and customer visits.
- Attend sales and district meetings, along with ongoing training sessions.
- Assist in training new employees as needed.
- Review sales reports, bid files, and gross profit margins to inform strategies.
- Handle administrative tasks such as preparing sales budgets, reports, quotes, and records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications ✅
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field
- OR HSD/GED with 3+ years in Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales, or related experience, including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bi-Lingual proficiency
- Experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or as a Chef
Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations:
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
- Current auto insurance meeting liability limits: $100,000 bodily injury per person, $300,000 per accident, and $100,000 property damage
Additional Requirements:
- Pass employment testing
- Sign Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
- Reside or be willing to relocate within the territory’s vicinity
