🔍 Position Overview
The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) at CHOP is looking for a pediatric psychologist to join our expanding integrated behavioral health programs, Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids, and outpatient services.
The Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids initiative aims for full integration of behavioral health in pediatric primary care, providing consultative and intervention services across practices in the CHOP Primary Care Network. You'll join an energetic multidisciplinary team, including Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Clinical Social Workers, and fellow Psychologists.
This role involves providing psychological services, developing clinical programs, participating in training, and contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives. Faculty appointment at the University of Pennsylvania is highly encouraged.
📝 Your Key Responsibilities
Clinical Activity
- Assess and treat children and families in primary care and other settings, collaborating with healthcare teams.
- Maintain productivity standards and a flexible schedule that includes availability, vacations, and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with all clinical and administrative policies, licensure standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Practice as an Independent Clinician, ensuring documentation and billing meet standards.
- Lead or contribute to clinical protocols, peer education, and program development.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with DCAPBS and other departments to deliver patient-centered care.
- Respond promptly to consultation requests and participate in departmental and institutional meetings.
- Support the growth of empirically-based models of care and serve as a resource and mentor to colleagues.
Teaching & Professional Development
- Engage in training activities, including supervision, lectures, and interprofessional learning.
- Establish high-quality educational experiences and contribute to faculty activities.
- Participate in national and regional professional activities and disseminate clinical knowledge.
Other Responsibilities
- Uphold the hospital's mission and demonstrate a commitment to community service.
- Complete required education, maintain licensure, and participate in clinical quality evaluations.
- Contribute to program development and ongoing professional growth.
🎓 Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Bachelor's Degree
- Doctorate in Psychology
- APA or CPA Accredited internship training
- Post-doctoral training in child and adolescent psychology
🛠 Skills & Certifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
- Ability to exercise judgment, problem-solve, and build effective relationships
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism
- Licensed Psychologist (Pennsylvania) - Required upon hire
🩺 Additional Requirements
Full vaccination against COVID-19 and annual influenza vaccination are required for patient-facing roles, with exemptions considered for valid medical or religious reasons.
💰 Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $36,279 – $205,640
Note: Compensation may vary based on skills and experience. Full-time salary ranges are standard; part-time pay is adjusted accordingly.
