Position Overview
As a vital member of the Care Team, the Medical Assistant will handle various clinical responsibilities both during and outside of provider visits. All team members must accurately document their work in the electronic health record, care for patients professionally and promptly, and maintain a clean, well-stocked work environment compliant with regulatory standards.
🌟 Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform basic patient assessments (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, etc.) following established protocols or provider requests
- Administer patient screenings and assessments based on demographics and individual needs
- Assist with procedures and other medical services
- Collect and test specimens (urine, sputum, pregnancy test, etc.) as required
- Administer and document immunizations and injections per PrimeCare guidelines
- Room patients for exams and oversee patient care until the visit concludes
- Document all services accurately and promptly in the electronic health record
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations related to safety, infection control, confidentiality, and equipment operation
- Maintain refrigeration temperatures according to VFC standards and log the data
- Treat patients with kindness and courtesy
- Manage correspondence via mail, e-mail, and voicemail, responding promptly and professionally
- Participate in shared responsibilities like answering phones, cleaning, stocking supplies, and training new staff as needed
- Support medical providers and nursing staff with other tasks outside documented duties
🔄 Availability: All clinical staff should be available at least one evening per week (until 8:00 pm) and one Saturday every four weeks.
🛠️ Required Skills & Abilities
- Basic patient care skills; assessment skills preferred
- Good physical stamina for being on your feet most of the day
- Excellent communication skills to work with diverse ages, cultures, and temperaments
- Strong ethics: punctuality, honesty, attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and willingness to learn
- Bilingual in Polish and English
🎓 Knowledge, Experience & Certifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
- Experience in clinical settings (medical practice, hospital, laboratory) is advantageous
- Recognition as a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant is encouraged
- Current provider-level BLS CPR certification is required before employment

💰 Salary & Compensation
Wages are determined by relevant experience and time since completing a Medical Assisting program. The starting rate reflects the salary of a newly graduated Medical Assistant.
