Job Description

We are looking for an experienced bilingual phlebotomist proficient in both Spanish and English. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' recent experience in phlebotomy and be confident in performing venipunctures independently from day one. Reliability, punctuality, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities 📝

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens.
• Maintain records and decontaminate equipment as needed.
• Accurately update patient information.
• Collect and store specimens according to established protocols.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Verify test requisitions or computer labels for accuracy.
• Package specimens properly for transport.
• Store samples at correct temperatures and ensure proper labeling to maintain integrity.

Essential Skills ✔️

• Minimum of 2 years' experience performing venipunctures in a busy lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques.
• Ability to conduct mock blood draws alongside seasoned professionals.
• Strong bilingual (Spanish and English) communication skills.

Work Environment 🌎

This position is based at our Burnside Bronx location. Work hours are Monday through Friday, with additional hours on alternate Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm. The environment is fast-paced, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure specimen integrity.

Pay Range: $23.00/hr
