Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative serves as the primary contact for patients and the community. Your responsibilities include processing referrals, managing patient registration, verifying insurance details, updating medical records accurately, scheduling appointments, transcribing orders, explaining financial options, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Schedule: 2-3 shifts per week, 8 hours each, Monday through Friday.

Essential Functions

  • Provide excellent communication and customer service by greeting patients and community members respectfully.
  • Handle admission paperwork and perform basic insurance verification, ensuring correct patient identification for billing.
  • Respond to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain patient flow and inform supervisors of any department or patient concerns immediately.
  • Coordinate and prioritize bed placement for timely and appropriate patient admission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Healthcare or related experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, Microsoft Office, Cadence, and Connect Care is advantageous.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills and basic computer proficiency.
  • Typing speed of 40 WPM with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional engagement with staff and patients.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking).
