Overview

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Quality and Risk Management team. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Legal Advisor, Ethics and Risk Management, managing risk-related matters for KPMG Law LLP. Your organizational abilities, proactive approach, and strong work ethic will help coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.

This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility and dynamic work environment.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Senior Legal Advisor on projects involving regulations of the legal profession and law firms across Canada, including ethics, conflicts of interest, privilege, fee arrangements, confidentiality, and risk management topics.
  • Update and review practice management resources and risk policies.
  • Collaborate with conflict resolution teams to oversee the firm’s conflict of interest processes and ethical dividers.
  • Assist with lawyer onboarding and offboarding regarding conflicts and compliance procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on risk management and law society regulatory issues.
  • Review law society resources related to professionalism and practice management.
  • Research and draft memos concerning ethics and risk management topics.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Certificate in Law or Paralegal Diploma with relevant experience.
  • At least five (5) years of paralegal experience.
  • Fluent bilingual communication skills in French and English, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, proofreading, and accuracy.
  • Strong time management skills to handle conflicting priorities efficiently.
  • Ability to handle privileged and confidential information with discretion.
  • Positive attitude and team spirit, with a proactive approach to workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Self-motivated with high standards of quality.
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills.

This role requires fluency in English. The successful candidate may need to collaborate with English-speaking colleagues and interpret policies, laws, and regulations as part of their job.

Compensation & Benefits

KPMG Ontario Region

The annual base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $82,000, with potential for bonus awards. Salary offers within this range will depend on location, skills, and qualifications. KPMG provides a comprehensive Total Rewards program to support your well-being.

KPMG BC Region

The base salary range is also $55,000 to $82,000, with eligibility for bonuses. Compensation decisions consider individual competencies and qualifications, complemented by our full benefits package.
