Established in 1909 through the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, the school provides a fully endowed, cost-free, career-focused education, graduating over 12,000 students to date. Position Overview: Flex Houseparents 👩👩👧👦
We are seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this life-changing role, couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing essential care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students. Your presence helps cultivate a structured, family-like environment that promotes students' academic, emotional, and social growth, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities 📋
- Providing daily supervision and mentorship
- Managing household routines and student schedules
- Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
- Driving students to activities and participating in developmental and recreational activities
- Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
- Overseeing household budgeting and reporting
Initially, Flex Houseparents support various homes on a schedule of nine days on duty followed by three days off. On weekdays, there is unscheduled time while students are in school. Later, they transition into a Placed Houseparent role, living and working with the same group of students in their own home.
Benefits & Compensation 💼💰
- Salary: $44,768 per person (approximate total of $168,000 per couple), including free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more

Qualifications & Requirements 🎓🚗
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Legally married for at least two years (both spouses)
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children residing in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Pet restrictions: only fish and one approved breed of dog allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and the ability to obtain certification to drive student vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (proselytizing not permitted)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; serve as role models for students
