🛡️ Role Overview: Full-time Flex Houseparents
In this unique and impactful career, married couples live in on-campus student homes and serve as mentors and guardians for groups of approximately 8–13 students. Flex Houseparents play a critical role in creating a structured, family-style environment that nurtures students' academic, emotional, and social growth, empowering them to reach their full potential.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Providing daily supervision and mentorship
- Managing household routines and student schedules
- Administering medications and promoting student wellness
- Driving students to activities and planning developmentally enriching recreational activities
- Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
- Overseeing household budgeting and reporting
Initially, Flex Houseparents support various student homes with a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off. During weekdays, houseparents have unscheduled time while students are in school. Over time, this role transitions into a Placed Houseparent position, where they live and work with a consistent group of students in their own home.

🎓 Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Must be a legally married couple for at least two years
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one approved breed dog
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student vans
- Comfort leading students in devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and role model qualities
