Now Hiring: Full-Time Flex Houseparents

✨ MHS is seeking married couples to serve as Full-Time Flex Houseparents. This unique, impactful career involves living in campus student homes and providing nurturing care, guidance, and supervision to groups of approximately 8–13 students.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision and mentorship to foster a family-like environment
  • Manage household routines and student schedules
  • Administer medications and support student wellness
  • Drive students to activities and plan engaging developmental and recreational events
  • Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel (Judeo-Christian services)
  • Oversee household budgeting and reporting

Initially, Flex Houseparents support various homes with a schedule: nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off. During weekdays, they have unscheduled time while students are in school. Later, they transition into a Placed Houseparent role, residing and working with the same students in their own home.

  • Salary: $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple), including:

Qualifications

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth
  • This role is for: Married couples legally married for at least two years
  • Both spouses must be aged 27 or older
  • Limited to no more than three dependent children residing in the student home
  • Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
  • Pet restrictions: only fish and one approved breed of dog
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans
  • Comfort leading daily devotions and attending Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism—serving as role models for students
