Position: Full-Time Flex Houseparents 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

MHS is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living in on-campus student homes and providing essential care, guidance, and supervision to groups of approximately 8–13 students. This unique role fosters a family-like environment that nurtures students’ academic, emotional, and social development, helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing daily supervision and mentorship to students
  • Managing household routines and schedules
  • Administering medications and supporting student wellness
  • Driving students to activities and engaging in developmental and recreational activities
  • Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
  • Overseeing household budgeting and reporting

Initial Schedule & Transition

Initially, Flex Houseparents support various student homes with a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. They have unscheduled time during weekdays when students are in school. Eventually, couples transition into a Placed Houseparent role, living and working with the same group of students in their own home.

Benefits & Compensation 💰

  • Salary: $44,768 per person (~$168,000 total for a couple), which includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more

Qualifications & Requirements ✅

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth
  • Married couples legally married for at least two years
  • Both spouses must be age 27 or older
  • Maximum of three dependent children residing in the student home
  • Commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
  • Pet restrictions: only fish and one approved breed of dog allowed
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans
  • Comfort leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and role modeling for students
