Richmond Area Multi-Servi Is Hiring A Bilingual Mental Health Consultant
Bilingual Mental Health Consultant (Mandarin/Cantonese) 🧠💬
Join our team as a dedicated Bilingual Mental Health Consultant, providing critical mental health support and services to children, families, and child care professionals in a multicultural setting.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide mental health consultations: Support child care personnel and offer program & case consultations at child care centers and family child care homes.
- On-site services for children: Deliver individualized mental health services to children aged 0-5, along with support to their families and groups.
- Parenting support: Lead on-site parenting classes and support groups for families with children aged 0-5.
- Training: Conduct in-service training sessions for child care staff on mental health topics.
- Referrals & Case Management: Make appropriate referrals and manage cases as needed.
- Meetings & Community Engagement: Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, trainings, and community meetings as required.
- Additional services: Offer other mental health services to children and families as part of ongoing care.
- Other duties: Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Additional Job Information
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required ⏰🌙
- Travel within San Francisco via public transportation or personal vehicle for on-site services 🚗🚌
Required Educational & Experience Qualifications
- Education: Master's Degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related fields 🎓
- Child Development Knowledge: Understanding of healthy child development 🧸
- Licensing: Registered or eligible for registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences ✅
- Experience: Working with young children and their families; experience with immigrant children aged 0-5 preferred.
- Child Care Setting Experience: Experience in both center-based and family child care environments highly recommended.
- Mental Health Consultation Experience: Helpful but not required.
- Bilingual Skills: Fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin to provide bilingual services.
Other Job Requirements
- Cultural Competence: Proven experience working with diverse populations with varied income levels and ethnic backgrounds, especially immigrant and minority families with low socioeconomic status 🌎🤝
- Knowledge of Childcare Culture: Understanding of local childcare communities and practices.
- Community Systems Familiarity: Knowledge of San Francisco behavioral health care systems, community resources (health, mental health, substance abuse, housing, etc.) highly preferred.

- Professional Development: Engagement in trainings, seminars, case conferences, and staying current with treatment strategies 🚀
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with a diverse, multicultural team and community members 🤝🌍
- Independence & Teamwork: Capable of working independently and collaboratively within the Fu Yau project and assigned child care sites.
