About the Role

As a Medical Records Clerk, you'll be responsible for organizing, managing, and retrieving medical records for special projects, ensuring full compliance with legal and ethical standards. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, efficient, and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • 📝 Collect, organize, and maintain client medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • 🔍 Review and verify the accuracy of medical records and reports
  • 💻 Input and update client information into our case management system
  • 📩 Request medical records from healthcare providers and follow up as needed
  • 📂 Organize records for easy retrieval by attorneys and staff
  • 📝 Assist in preparing medical records for legal documentation
  • 🔐 Maintain confidentiality and security of medical information
  • 🎯 Perform additional clerical and administrative duties as required

Qualifications

  • 🎓 High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in medical records management is a plus
  • 🩺 Minimum of 1 year experience in medical records or similar administrative role
  • 📝 Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
  • 🔍 Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • 💻 Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical records software
  • 🗣️ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 🏡 Ability to work independently and efficiently from home
  • 🤝 High ethical standards and respect for confidentiality
  • 🗣️ Bilingual in Spanish required
