General Description
This role provides bilingual support for students and families, assists parents with school procedures, and performs clerical and instructional tasks following established protocols. The position involves contact with internal and external stakeholders and requires tact, judgment, and cultural sensitivity. Each role is tailored to meet the specific needs of students or departments served.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide bilingual support for students and families.
- Create a welcoming environment in collaboration with school office staff and administration.
- Assist parents in accessing information about school procedures, including enrollment, graduation requirements, and conferences.
- Guide parents in utilizing school and community resources.
- Collaborate to address barriers to student success.
- Prepare and display relevant materials.
- Provide clerical support, including making calls to parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Equipment Operation: Operates basic office and assigned equipment.
- Contacts: Administrators, teachers, students, staff, and parents.

- Decision-Making: Performs duties independently within guidelines.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform manual tasks including bending, stooping, climbing stairs, and reaching overhead.
- Work Environment: Public school or office setting with noise levels ranging from quiet to moderate.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in English and a second language, with cultural sensitivity.
- Knowledge of childhood development, behavior management, and academic subjects.
- Training in and ability to perform community interpreting with accuracy and clarity.
- Experience supervising children and performing clerical tasks.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and a second language.
- Ability to interpret, explain, and apply rules, policies, and procedures effectively.
Additional Requirements
- Educational Qualification: High school diploma or GED.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Relationship Building: Ability to foster positive relationships with diverse individuals.

Compensation & Schedule
- Salary Range: $29,532.25 – $50,194.05
- Work Hours: 8 hours per day
- Work Days: 183 days per year
