Position Overview: Legal Interviewer 🎙️
The Legal Interviewer will conduct client interviews by telephone, identify and classify legal issues, and refer callers to appropriately screened attorneys. This role involves responding to online legal assistance requests, screening clients for eligibility for low-fee or pro bono services, coordinating appointments, and summarizing legal issues with computerized intake forms. The Legal Interviewer also makes referrals to social service or government agencies when necessary.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience working with diverse communities (preferred)
- Skills & Qualifications:
- Fluent communication in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (oral and written)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with keen attention to detail
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Patience and empathy when interacting with clients
- Good judgment in handling calls and referrals for LRIS services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
