Responsibilities & Duties 📋

Complaint Screening 🔍

  • Review and assess incoming complaints for proper handling

Audit & Investigative Activities 🔎

  • Examine payroll records, timecards, and related documentation for compliance
  • Conduct interviews, gather evidence, and inspect worksites to verify violations

Collaboration & Education 🗣️

  • Facilitate conferences with claimants and employers to resolve disputes
  • Provide information about labor law requirements in both English and Spanish

Case Preparation 📁

  • Compile reports, draft correspondence, and prepare testimonies for legal proceedings

Enforcement Actions ⚖️

  • Testify as an expert witness in administrative and court cases

Work Schedule & Additional Info 🕒

  • Full-time employment
  • Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch
  • Initial training may require frequent travel to the Scranton District Office

Telework & Equipment 💻

This position is home headquartered. To qualify, you must have a secure, high-speed internet connection and work from an approved Pennsylvania location.

Qualifications & Eligibility ✅

Minimum Experience & Education 🎓

  • One year of technical investigative, construction, or trades experience plus a bachelor's degree, or
  • Two years of such experience plus an associate’s degree, or
  • Equivalent combination of experience and training

Additional Requirements ✔️

  • Fluent in speaking and writing Spanish
  • Possession of federally compliant ID (e.g., U.S. Passport, REAL ID, Military ID) — proof required at conditional job offer
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate to the Scranton District Office region — expenses not covered
  • Ability to uphold Department of Labor & Industry values and demonstrate professionalism
  • Strong communication, initiative, and problem-solving skills
