This bilingual role plays a vital part in safeguarding workers' rights by ensuring compliance with labor laws. 🤝 Responsibilities
- Complaint Screening: Review and evaluate incoming complaints for proper handling
- Audit & Investigation: Examine payrolls, timecards, and conduct site inspections; interview witnesses; gather evidence
- Collaboration & Education: Facilitate dispute resolutions, provide labor law information in Spanish, and conduct outreach to employers and employees
- Case Preparation: Compile reports, draft correspondence, and prepare testimony for legal proceedings
- Enforcement: Serve as an expert witness during administrative or court hearings
Work Schedule & Additional Info 🕒
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (1-hour lunch)
- Travel: May require travel to Scranton District Office for training in initial months
- Telework: Home-based with high-speed internet and within Pennsylvania
- Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases

🎯 Qualifications & Eligibility
Minimum Experience & Education:
- One year of investigative or construction trades experience + a bachelor's degree, OR
- Two years of investigative trades experience + an associate degree, OR
- Equivalent combination of experience and training
Additional Requirements:
- Fluency in Spanish (speaking and writing)
- Valid federally compliant ID (e.g., U.S. Passport, REAL ID, Military ID)
- Residency or willingness to relocate to counties served by Scranton District Office (expenses not covered)
- Ability to uphold values and ethics of the Department
- Professionalism, discretion, and strong communication skills
- Proven initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to perform essential job functions
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Experience in investigations, construction, business management, finance, accounting, or conflict resolution
- Educational background related to investigative work
- Experience enforcing labor standards or testifying in legal settings
