Position Overview

A leading banking industry company in New York is seeking a Bilingual IT Project Manager to oversee IT infrastructure projects and facilitate collaboration between U.S. and Japan-based stakeholders. This role demands 5-10 years of IT project management experience, particularly in infrastructure, with a significant portion of work (30-50%) involving coordination with the company's head office in Japan. Fluency in English and Japanese is essential. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing international projects in a dynamic environment.

What Will You Do

• Project Management: Lead and support IT infrastructure projects, ensuring thorough planning, execution, and successful completion.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a bridge between U.S. and Japan teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
• Bilingual Communication: Translate technical and business requirements between English and Japanese teams.
• Timeline & Budget Management: Keep projects within budget and on schedule, maintaining high-quality standards.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to banking regulations and security standards.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation in both languages.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies proactively.
• Vendor & Partner Engagement: Collaborate with external vendors and IT service providers as necessary.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Fluency in both English and Japanese (spoken and written) 🇺🇸🇯🇵
• 5-10 years of IT project management experience, ideally in financial services or banking
• Experience in IT infrastructure projects, such as network upgrades, data center migrations, or security implementations
• Strong ability to work across global teams and time zones, with 30-50% of responsibilities involving Japan collaboration
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• PMP or other project management certifications are a plus
• Ability to work in a hybrid (NY/NJ) environment with 2 onsite days per week
