🔎 Job Overview
The Human Resources Generalist will oversee all aspects of human resources functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal regulations. This is a vital role that demands strong HR knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
📍 Location & Work Schedule
- 🗺️ Location: Houston, TX (on-site only)
- 🕗 Working hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 🗓️ Occasional evenings and weekends may be required
- 🚫 No hybrid or remote options available
- 🔒 Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders
- 🗣️ Fluent in both English and Spanish
📝 Key Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive HR functions: employment, organizational development, employee relations, policies, performance management, training, recruitment, safety, and legal compliance.
- Provide HR guidance: coaching and counseling employees and management on conflict resolution and employment policies.
- Implement policies and programs: manage training, compensation, compliance, and benefits to attract and retain talent.
- Manage employee data: maintain electronic records in HRIS & Payroll systems, coordinating with payroll for accurate processing.
- Ensure legal compliance: monitor adherence to federal, state, and local laws such as EEOC, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Handle investigations: conduct and resolve employee complaints and concerns.
- Develop training programs: identify needs and implement onboarding, safety, leadership, and classroom training.
- Protect company interests: develop and enforce policies aligned with HR standards and legal requirements.
- Boost employee engagement: initiate programs to motivate staff, improve work environment, and uphold core values.
- Organize team events: coordinate activities to foster team integration.
- Support logistics: assist visitors with on-site arrangements, including food and services.
🛠️ Required Qualifications & Skills
- Educational/Experience: Degree in HR or related field, or 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Interpersonal skills: Expertise in interviewing, assessing candidate skills, and recruiting.
- HR expertise: Proven experience in employee evaluation, performance management, and recruiting platforms.
- Technical proficiency: Skilled in HR software like ADP Workforce Now, benefits management systems, and recruiting tools.
- Software skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word; IT background is a plus.
- Performance management: Ability to develop goal-setting and feedback processes effectively.
- Communication & teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and leadership.
- Analytical skills: Strong problem-solving abilities for analyzing complex HR data and devising solutions.
- Self-management: Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Language skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish, with fluent proficiency in both.
