Position Details
This role reports to our Tysons, VA headquarters with frequent travel to construction sites. It is primarily based on-site at project locations, engaging directly with employees and management to foster a productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate on construction job sites, acting as a liaison between employees and management 🏗️
- Investigate employee complaints, provide counseling, and promote conflict resolution while keeping supervisors informed 🤝
- Recommend corrective actions, support disciplinary measures, and assist with separations
- Perform routine site walks to connect with employees, address questions, and assess the working environment 🚶♂️
- Identify and escalate issues to corporate HR as needed
- Stay updated on labor laws and advise supervisors accordingly ⚖️
- Clarify company policies, procedures, and ensure compliance
- Facilitate annual performance reviews in collaboration with corporate HR
- Conduct face-to-face evaluations when practical
- Coordinate employee and supervisor training sessions 📚
- Assist with new hire orientations and respond to employee inquiries
- Educate staff on benefits throughout the year and during open enrollment periods
- Ensure labor law posters and company-required displays are current and visible 📝
- Conduct exit interviews to identify root causes of voluntary terminations
- Develop retention strategies and recommend process improvements

Qualifications 🎓
- Minimum of 2+ years' experience in employee relations or related fields, preferably in construction or engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Associate degree with 6+ years of experience, or 8+ years of experience without a degree
- Fluency in English and Spanish required
- Willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time
