Job Description
Salary: $22 per hour
This is not your typical corporate HR job. This is HR inside a movement.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Fully committed to civil and immigrant rights
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-energy nonprofit environment
- 100% bilingual Spanish/English (required)
- Passionate about supporting staff with care and professionalism
You’ll be the backbone of our HR operations, supporting recruiting, onboarding, documentation, compliance, and accounts payable, while learning the world of HR inside a vibrant social justice organization. 🚀
What You’ll Be Doing
Human Resources Support
- Assist with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
- Maintain confidential personnel files and HR systems (BambooHR)
- Support benefits administration and payroll coordination
- Track time off, leaves, and documentation
- Prepare reports and compliance materials
Employee Support
- Be a friendly and professional first point of contact for HR questions
- Support staff with forms, benefits, and HR processes
- Assist the HR Manager with employee relations and internal communication
Administrative & Organizational Support
- Help with documentation and scheduling
- Support compliance processes
- Participate in major events such as May Day, the Annual Gala, and staff retreats
Qualifications
- Administrative experience required
- HR experience preferred (but we will train the right person!)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Commitment to immigrant, worker, and social justice causes
- Experience working with diverse communities preferred
- Spanish / English bilingual REQUIRED
- Education in HR or Business
Schedule
Full-time: 40 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Some flexibility may be needed for events. 🎉
