Position Overview

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Homeownership Coach to join our team. As a Financial Wellbeing Coach, you will provide personalized guidance to clients navigating the homeownership process, ensuring compliance with HUD guidelines regarding data entry and document submission. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential to effectively communicate with diverse audiences. 🗣️🌐

Key Responsibilities

  • 💬 Individual Counseling

    • Conduct one-on-one sessions offering guidance on HUD programs, including FHA loans and down payment assistance.
    • Create personalized action plans based on client needs.
    • Educate clients on budgeting, debt management, and savings strategies.
  • 📚 Financial Education

    • Deliver workshops and educational content on financial topics and homeownership considerations.
    • Assist clients in understanding the financial impact of homeownership and making informed decisions.
    • Develop relationships with banks and community organizations for mutual referrals.
  • 🤝 Client Relationship Management

    • Enroll clients into our CRM system and promote online enrollment.
    • Maintain trustful relationships through regular check-ins via Zoom, phone, or in-person meetings.
    • Track progress towards financial goals using Dynamics software.
  • 🛠️ Resource Referral

    • Connect clients with additional resources, grants, and community programs.
    • Stay updated on new financial assistance opportunities and build community alliances.
    • Promote Operation HOPE’s solutions via social media channels.
  • 📝 Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate records following HUD guidelines.
    • Ensure daily data entry into CRM systems, providing timely updates to maintain data integrity.
  • 🌎 Serving Spanish-Speaking Clients

    • Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish to serve Hispanic and Latino communities.
    • Ensure culturally sensitive messaging and engagement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Housing, Counseling, or similar; or 2+ years related work experience.
  • Financial Knowledge: Proficient in personal finance, budgeting, and debt management.
  • Technical Skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Dynamics preferred).
  • Certifications: HUD certified or willing to obtain certification within 90 days.
  • Experience: Previous homeownership counseling or related roles.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Empathetic, culturally sensitive, confident, and professional.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to travel within the designated market area and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.
  • Knowledge of loan packaging processes.
  • Community outreach and public speaking abilities in both English and Spanish.
