Bilingual Financial Wellbeing Coach – Homeownership
Operation HOPE is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to promoting financial dignity, economic empowerment, and homeownership opportunities. Our mission is to equip people with the tools and knowledge necessary for achieving and maintaining sustainable homeownership.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Homeownership Coach to join our team. As a Financial Wellbeing Coach, you will provide personalized guidance to clients navigating the homeownership journey, emphasizing accurate data entry and documentation in adherence to HUD guidelines. Your goal will be to build confidence and knowledge, enabling clients to make informed financial decisions and overcome challenges.
Key Responsibilities
🤝 Individual Counseling
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions for clients seeking homeownership assistance.
- Provide guidance on HUD programs including FHA loans, down payment assistance, and homeownership education.
- Develop personalized action plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Educate clients on budgeting, debt management, savings strategies, and more.
📘 Financial Education
- Deliver comprehensive financial education covering budgeting, credit management, and homeownership topics.
- Help clients understand financial implications and empower informed decisions.
- Engage with community and bank partners for client referrals.
- Lead virtual and in-person workshops as needed.
❤️ Client Relationship Management
- Enroll clients into our CRM system and encourage self-enrollment via our website.
- Establish and maintain trusting relationships through regular communication.
- Schedule and conduct sessions via Zoom, phone, or in-person.
- Track clients’ progress towards financial goals using Dynamics software.
🔗 Resource Referral
- Connect clients with additional resources, support networks, and community programs.
- Stay informed on financial aid, grants, and assistance programs.
- Build strategic alliances with community partners.
- Promote Operation HOPE solutions via social media channels.
📝 Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed, accurate client activity records following HUD standards.
- Ensure daily data entry in our CRM system, Dynamics.
- Report client updates promptly to keep data current and precise.
🌎 Serving Spanish-Speaking Clients
Fluency in both English and Spanish is vital to effectively engage and serve diverse Hispanic and Latino communities. Excellent communication skills are essential to ensure accessibility and cultural sensitivity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Housing, Counseling, or a related field, or 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of personal finance, budgeting, debt management, and savings.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- HUD certification or ability to pass the exam within 90 days.
- Experience in homeownership counseling or related roles.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Empathy, patience, confidence, accountability, and professionalism.
- Culturally competent, good listener, and self-motivated.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
- Personal transportation for local travel.
- Commitment to ongoing HUD training.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Experience in loan packaging, sales, or community outreach.
- Public speaking skills in both English and Spanish.
