Your Role as a Bilingual Flight Attendant

Beyond standard safety and service duties, you'll act as a cultural and linguistic liaison. Responsibilities include:

  • Making public announcements in Japanese and English 🇯🇵🇺🇸
  • Assisting passengers with customs forms
  • Providing service recovery for issues that arise
  • Collaborating effectively with a multi-lingual team 🤝

What Your Day Looks Like 🗓️

This role involves:

  • Long-haul international flights ✈️
  • Multi-day trips with extended layovers 🏖️
  • Night shift departures 🌙
  • Weekend operations
  • Full flexibility for international on-call support (reserve) and scheduled lines

Training & Onboarding 📚

The position requires:

  • At least 2+ years of customer service experience
  • A 6.5-week paid training program in Houston, including a mandatory language proficiency test
  • While no prior flight attendant experience is necessary, it is preferred

Career Progression & Compensation 💼

United Airlines offers an industry-leading salary, with an estimated annual base wage ranging from $50,000 to $80,000, including language pay. Benefits also feature profit sharing and premium global travel privileges on United and Star Alliance partners.
