Vital Research Is Hiring A Bilingual Field Interviewer

Vital Research is hiring Bilingual Field Interviewers (English/Cantonese/Mandarin) in San Francisco, CA, to conduct in-person interviews with older adults for our PACE survey projects. Join us as an independent contractor to help improve participant satisfaction and make a meaningful impact! 🚀

About the Role

This project kicks off with a mandatory hybrid training session in late June, where you'll learn how to conduct interviews effectively. The project will run for three months, with flexible work assignments based on availability. After successful training, you'll join a dedicated team conducting interviews throughout the San Diego metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with participants at day centers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Be punctual, work independently, and maintain objectivity during interviews.
• Keep organized records of interviews, including completed and refused interviews, and update the Vital Research team daily.
• Build positive relationships with participants and attentively understand their feedback.
• Utilize company-issued tablets to conduct 10-15 minute private, in-person interviews.
• Maintain communication via personal cellphone and email with the Vital Research team.
• Ensure confidentiality and comply with federal HIPAA regulations and data security standards.
• Availability during assignments from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm; actual hours may vary.

Requirements

• Language proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English, Cantonese, and/or Mandarin.
• Interpersonal skills: Comfort interacting with older adults, with sensitivity to disabilities, illnesses, and communication barriers.
• Organizational skills: Strong time management, communication, and documentation abilities via email and phone.
• Technical proficiency: Familiarity with email, internet, file management, and troubleshooting.
• Equipment: Personal computer or device capable of using MS Excel and internet access.
• Communication tools: Personal phone and reliable wireless internet.
• Accuracy: Ability to record responses precisely and follow structured protocols.
• Compliance: Adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Dress code: Business casual attire.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with older adults, nursing homes, assisted living, or adult daycare centers.
• Previous experience in interviewing is a plus.

Compensation & Additional Details

• Hourly rate: $30.00
• Reimbursements: Mileage, drive time, and other expenses covered.
• Submission deadline: June 8, 2026
