Kanner & Pintaluga, a rapidly expanding law firm specializing in personal injury and property damage cases, is seeking a motivated Bilingual Legal Assistant to join their busy Boca Raton team. 🚀
Position Overview
The Legal Assistant serves as a vital contact point between the firm, attorneys, and insurance companies. They work closely with attorneys on ongoing cases, prepare for trials, conduct fact-finding projects, and manage case files efficiently.
Key Responsibilities 🔑
- Bi-lingual proficiency (English/Spanish) required
- Perform secretarial, clerical, and data entry duties
- Manage documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe
- E-file legal documents via Illinois’ E-Portal System
- Maintain attorneys’ calendars
- Schedule depositions, meetings, mediations, and hearings
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas
- Send correspondence via email, mail, or certified mail
- Communicate effectively with clients
- Set up court calls or Zoom meetings for hearings
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Experience & Requirements 🎓
- Full-time schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday
- Minimum of 2+ years legal assistant experience
- Experience in first-party property or general litigation
- Strong customer service skills
- Familiarity with case management software
- Experience e-filing in both state and federal courts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication with clients and team members
- Excellent organizational skills with multitasking and prioritization abilities
