About the Role

Advocates is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to provide compassionate care in a residential setting. As a Direct Support Staff, you'll support residents through daily activities, guidance, and community engagement, helping them lead fulfilling lives.

What You'll Do

• Support daily living activities such as cooking, personal hygiene, and dressing.
• Administer and manage medications following Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
• Transport residents to appointments and community outings.
• Complete shift notes documenting observations, concerns, and progress.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to support each individual's needs.
• Promote community integration through activities, trips, and volunteering.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; experience working with the population is a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin or Cantonese.
• Excellent interpersonal, judgment, and coaching skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with basic computer applications.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-centered, team-oriented environment.
• Valid driver's license, accessible insured vehicle, and willingness to transport clients.
• Experience serving culturally diverse populations is highly preferred.

Additional Shift Details

Relief positions available. Responsibilities include supporting individuals with daily activities inside their homes and in the community, encouraging self-advocacy, and assisting with routines and community participation.
