Position Overview
The Director of Planning & Customer Service for the Americas is responsible for overseeing and optimizing customer service and planning processes in the US, Mexico, and Colombia. This role ensures seamless integration of demand and supply planning activities, inventory management, and production scheduling. The primary focus is achieving excellent service levels, maintaining inventory accuracy, and optimizing costs—all while aligning with TekniPlex’s standards for quality, safety, and profitability. Additionally, the Director promotes a collaborative work environment aligned with company values, fostering cross-functional integration within the region. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is essential for success in this role.
Job Responsibilities
- Demand Planning: Lead and consolidate regional forecasts based on sales data, historical trends, and market insights, utilizing statistical models and customer-specific strategies.
- Operational Planning: Establish service level agreements (SLAs) with supply planning teams across the Americas, monitor OTIF performance, manage slow-moving SKUs, and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Inventory Planning: Define and manage inventory policies, including safety, cycle, lead-time, and contingency stocks tailored for each location.
- Production Scheduling: Prioritize master production schedules, addressing capacity constraints such as line capacity, labor, and bottlenecks to meet customer demands.
- Capacity Planning: Develop and sustain a rough-cut capacity plan (RCCP), considering stock-building and logistical constraints for optimal resource utilization.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to optimize the supply chain, including SKU rationalization, facility planning, and projects aimed at enhancing financial and operational performance.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure alignment and effective communication across the region.
- Team Development: Manage and mentor planning and customer service teams, fostering continuous improvement, collaboration, and a culture of accountability. Conduct performance reviews and support skill development.
- KPI Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate planning efficiency, inventory accuracy, service levels, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
- 7-10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a similar industry.
- Strong background in demand planning, inventory management, and production scheduling across multiple regional markets.
- Proven success in leading cross-functional teams and implementing process improvements in supply chain planning.
Skills & Competencies
- Strategic thinking combined with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory optimization models.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build effective cross-functional partnerships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong project management capabilities and experience leading change initiatives.
Compensation
Salary Range: $125,000 to $150,000 DOE 💼
