Overview

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is often the first point of contact for customers interacting with HarperCollins Publishers. This role requires good judgment and the ability to resolve customer issues promptly with minimal supervision. Our aim is for each CSR to embody our core values, respond swiftly and accurately to inquiries, and foster strong relationships both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • 📧 Provide support by answering email inquiries and phone calls in both English and Spanish.
  • 📝 Multitask while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • 🔎 Use available resources such as macros, FAQs, and knowledge articles to assist users.
  • ⚠️ Escalate issues appropriately when necessary.
  • 💬 Offer accurate feedback regarding products and services.
  • 🤝 Communicate effectively with internal teams, external customers, and support staff.
  • 🔧 Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • ⭐ 1-3 years of prior customer service experience (required)
  • 🎓 High School Diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • 🗣️ Bilingual in English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) (required)
  • 📞 Call center experience (preferred)
  • 💬 Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with phone and chat interactions
  • 💻 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; technical troubleshooting skills (preferred)
  • 🔧 Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One and Microsoft Dynamics CRM (preferred)
  • 📞 Excellent telephone etiquette
  • ⚖️ Flexible, detail-oriented, and organized
  • 🧩 Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • 🚀 Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • ✅ Skilled in prioritization and multitasking
