Child Support Case Specialist

Join our team as a Child Support Case Specialist, providing essential support services to families and ensuring compliance with child support policies. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a dynamic administrative environment.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Customer Interaction: Respond to moderately complex telephone inquiries regarding child support and parenting time cases, providing case status, payment information, and explaining policies and procedures. ๐Ÿ“ž
  • Case Data Management: Enter, retrieve, and update case information on the Texas Child Support Enforcement System (TXCSES). ๐Ÿ’ป
  • Follow-up Communications: Make introductory calls on Focus on Collections and Services (FOCAS) cases as assigned. ๐Ÿ“‹
  • Client Reception & Screening: Screen incoming calls courteously, refer clients to appropriate agencies, and route calls efficiently. Maintain a welcoming reception area. โ˜Ž๏ธ
  • Scheduling & Documentation: Schedule client appointments, prepare appointment letters, and maintain detailed records of requests, appointments, and referrals. ๐Ÿ“…โœ‰๏ธ
  • Document Handling: Prepare, scan, assemble, index, and verify incoming documents in accordance with ECM guidelines, ensuring proper case association. Create and manage document batches. ๐Ÿ“„๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ
  • File & Mail Management: Route case files, process daily incoming and outgoing mail, stamp, scan, index, and distribute mail as per policy. Monitor postage funds. ๐Ÿ—‚๏ธโœ‰๏ธ
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain the file room, ensure documents are correctly filed, and support retrieval for court or case review. Maintain Virtual Case Folder (VCF) integrity. ๐Ÿ—ƒ๏ธ
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare routine and periodic reports, and coordinate document delivery and pickup with related offices and departments. ๐Ÿ“Š

Requirements

  • Registration and successful score of at least 80% on the HRT Clerical Skills Test.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years full-time experience in customer service, reception, secretarial work, or child support services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word for Windows and Windows 2000/XP.
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word for Windows and Windows 2000/XP.
  • Strong communication and telephone skills.

Position Details

  • Type: Full-time, Regular
  • Work Hours: Monday โ€“ Friday; hours to be discussed during interview
  • Salary: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour (based on qualifications) + benefits
