Looking for a leadership role in a dynamic environment? We are seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) Unit Manager to oversee hazard outsourcing services and lead a dedicated team.
🌟 Position Overview
The Unit Manager I at Assurant Plans, organizes, leads, controls, and coordinates the daily activities of associates involved in hazard outsourcing services. This role ensures smooth operations with a focus on security, compliance, and team development.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 9 pm EST.
Language Requirement: Fluent in English and Spanish.
🛠️ Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily responsibilities of associates managing secure checks related to escrow funds for hazard functions.
- Identify and resolve issues with checks prior to endorsement to homeowners.
- Maintain strict security controls around checks and check stock, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Contribute to developing short and long-term goals for the work group.
- Consult with management for guidance on complex issues.
- Monitor performance and manage financial risks to prevent losses and support quality customer service.
- Communicate departmental performance effectively.
- Ensure associates have the tools, supplies, and facilities needed for their functions.
- Enforce corporate, operational, and departmental policies and values.
- Coach and guide associates to foster continual improvement.
- Enforce KPIs related to productivity and quality standards.
- Investigate complaints, identify root causes, and implement prevention controls.
- Promote teamwork and cohesive participation to meet operational objectives.
- Maintain reports and data on performance, attendance, productivity, and staffing.
- Negotiate conflicts productively, resolving personnel issues according to HR policies.
- Recruit top candidates and leverage high performers for critical roles.
- Align staff resources and skills with departmental functions.
- Incentivize and reward excellence within the team.
- Gather feedback for ongoing self-development.
- Participate in client meetings, providing timely and accurate information.
- Maintain service levels and continuously challenge staff to improve skills and operational knowledge.
- Implement controls to monitor process changes and progress.
- Collaborate with outside teams and assist in resolving operational problems beyond own span of control.
- Update Account Executives about client-related changes.
🎯 Job Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Experience managing call centers or contact centers.
- Desirable: Experience in mortgage servicing, customer service, retail banking, or hazard processing.

🔧 Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
This role primarily involves general office demands.
💰 Pay Range
$42,600.00 - $70,200.00
Note: The posted pay range reflects potential compensation factors, including candidate experience and work location, with opportunities for salary progression.
