Job Description

Overview

The Bilingual Cashier is responsible for greeting and thanking every customer who enters and departs the store. They must be proficient in all aspects of Cavender’s Boot City cashiering system, knowledgeable about related paperwork, and maintain a neat and professional appearance. Additionally, cashiers support store operations by answering calls enthusiastically, assisting with stocking, visual displays, special orders, and maintaining overall store cleanliness.

📝 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and uphold our Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Perform cashiering tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Keep the work area tidy, organized, and clean.
  • Be knowledgeable about CBC policies and procedures.
  • Handle all cashiering transactions including:
    • Cash Sales
    • Check Sales
    • Non-taxable Sales
    • Credit Card Transactions
    • Voids and Exchanges
  • Enter all sales and monetary transactions promptly into the register.
  • Assist in stocking merchandise and maintaining store presentation.
  • Suggest add-on products and promote store specials to customers.
  • Report to work punctually, dressed neatly and appropriately.
  • Remain security-conscious at all times.
  • Provide knowledgeable responses to phone inquiries regarding sales, promotions, store locations, prices, and inventory.
  • Stay updated on current sales and promotions.
  • Practice inventory control, including checking for boot mismates.
  • Follow company policies on all commission sales and validate sales tickets.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Collaborate with management to align with company goals (e.g., ADS, UPTs, vendor programs).

⚙️ Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to lift objects regularly during your shift.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Capable of understanding and following basic instructions.
  • Ability to interpret documents and respond effectively to questions.
  • Skilled in analyzing information and preparing reports.
  • Must remain alert and attentive throughout work hours.
  • Able to raise and lower objects as needed.
