Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Work toward permanency for children through reunification, adoption, or preparation for independent living.
- Conduct home visits (birth and foster), provide community referrals, and accompany families to medical, school, housing, and welfare appointments.
- Participate in court proceedings with prepared reports and attend family-related meetings.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Engage with birth parents, foster parents, and youth using motivational interviewing techniques to assess safety and risk.
- Implement evidence-based models, including participating in family conferences and supervising visits.
- Serve as a liaison advocating for families in healthcare, education, and housing settings.
- Collaborate with socio-therapists, offer counseling, and develop safety and crisis intervention plans.
- Provide family planning counseling for youth aged 12 and older, documenting discussions thoroughly.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain documentation through Connections and other databases in compliance with guidelines.
- Attend team meetings, case consultations, and coaching sessions.
- Gather documentation for applications related to housing, special services, or rates in partnership with support departments.
Ongoing Job Responsibilities
- Manage an average caseload of 10 active and 2 suspended cases.
- Attend court proceedings punctually, with prepared reports, and testify when necessary.
- Conduct home visits, facilitate family and sibling visitations, and supervise as required.
- Engage with hard-to-reach families, acting as a resource for community referrals and advocacy.
- Perform any other duties assigned to support our mission.
Requirements & Preferences
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field; BSW or MSW with 1-2 years child welfare experience preferred.
- Knowledge of community resources and system negotiation skills for multi-problem families.
- Experience with drug treatment populations highly preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred.
- Strong typing, computer, and interpersonal skills required.

- Education must be from an accredited U.S. institution or include credential evaluation for non-U.S. degrees.
- Salary Range: $59,516.49 plus $3,800 education additive and $3,500 language additive.
