🎯 About the Role
The Senior Buyer leads the purchasing of materials, supplies, and services on favorable terms. Responsibilities include vendor qualification, bid evaluation, price negotiation, and maintaining supplier relationships to support our business objectives.
📝 Responsibilities
- Apply sound manufacturing and automation knowledge to understand operational requirements
- Utilize MS Office suite effectively, quickly adapting to new software
- Develop and implement bidding, negotiation, and pricing strategies for capital and equipment purchases
- Manage purchase orders to ensure timely rescheduling, cancellation, and expediting
- Serve as the main contact for suppliers, managing relationships regarding service, delivery, quality, and billing
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify key and preferred suppliers aligning with corporate goals
- Proactively resolve issues that could delay material deliveries
- Implement sourcing strategies to leverage purchasing power and meet customer needs
- Communicate with international suppliers for bids, quotations, and follow-up
- Create plans to meet cost-saving targets
- Achieve productivity and delivery targets including purchase price variance and inventory management
- Conduct RFQs and tenders, ensuring compliance with specifications, pricing, and delivery terms
- Oversee vendor activities to meet order completion timelines
- Develop and modify procurement methods and procedures
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain organization
🎓 Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills across requisitioning departments and suppliers
- Deep knowledge of market competition and decision-making based on internal and external data
- Experience managing supply, storage, transport, and distribution of materials
- Proven track record ensuring timely procurement with quality and cost efficiency
- Contract management and negotiation experience, including annual contracts
- Capability to handle multiple procurement projects under tight deadlines
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, with strong cultural and business understanding of Mexico
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Strong proficiency in SAP systems, preferably SAP B1
- N.A.P.M. and/or A.P.I.C.S. certification is a plus
- Preference for candidates residing in Colorado due to on-site requirements
- Daily on-site work at Muller Technology CO, Inc., with a minimum of 40 hours per week
