Job Overview

The Technical Business Development Specialist acts as a vital link between our engineering expertise and client engagement, translating complex technological solutions into compelling business proposals and presentations. Reporting directly to the COO and collaborating with technical teams, this role ensures our documentation reflects our latest innovations, supporting revenue growth and competitive differentiation.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development Documentation 📄

• Author, update, and maintain proposals, tenders, EOIs, contracts, presentations, and client correspondence.
• Ensure all materials accurately showcase current technologies, patents, and corporate messaging.
• Develop and oversee a centralized content library and templates, with version control and stakeholder access.
• Collaborate with technical experts to translate technical content into persuasive business language.
• Create and update multimedia content such as product demos and explainer videos to enhance engagement.

Technical Translation & Content Strategy 🧩

• Deeply understand our software products, architecture, and IP to articulate differentiators effectively.
• Develop compelling narratives that align technical solutions with client needs and competitive landscape.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to incorporate innovation milestones into marketing materials.

Process & Quality Improvement 🔄

• Audit existing documentation for accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment, leading improvements.
• Establish review cycles to keep materials current as products and IP evolve.
• Define and enforce documentation standards, style guides, and terminology across all assets.

Client Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration 🤝

• Serve as the primary resource for documentation within the Business Development team.
• Coordinate with legal, finance, and technical teams to ensure proposal and contract accuracy and compliance.
• Mentor team members on proposal writing and best-practice documentation techniques.
• Deliver engaging client presentations demonstrating our technical capabilities and solutions.
• Travel internationally to support business development, attend meetings, and represent Securiport at industry events.
• Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company dress code and represent the organization positively in all interactions.

Qualifications & Experience 🎓

• Bilingual in French and English; Spanish is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related fields.
• 3+ years in technical writing, pre-sales, bid management, or business development within tech/software environments.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
• Experience producing high-quality proposals and tender responses in competitive markets.
• Proven presentation skills, including engagement with senior stakeholders and executives.
• Willingness to travel internationally to support various business activities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with rigor in accuracy and tone.
• Strong project management skills; adept at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including managing Bills of Materials (BOMs), pricing schedules, and financial trackers.

Preferred Skills & Experience 🎯

• Experience with software product documentation, IP landscapes, or technical marketing content.
• Familiarity with proposal management tools, CRMs, or content management systems.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles such as Agile or SDLC.
• Background in bid writing, solution selling, or pre-sales engineering.
• Additional language skills are advantageous for our international engagements.
