Bilingual (Spanish) Business Development Director - International Market Development (Remote - Eligible)

🔍 Capital One is looking for a dynamic Business Development Director to lead our International Market Development Team, focusing on expanding our presence across North and Latin America. This role offers remote flexibility and the opportunity to influence global payment solutions.

📋 About the Role

The Director will oversee client relationships with senior partners, drive growth initiatives, negotiate agreements, and support marketing and product teams to enhance our cardholder experience in international markets. You will serve as the key representative for Discover Network at industry events and foster strategic partnerships.

🎯 Core Responsibilities

• Brand Representation: Attend industry events and trade shows to increase brand visibility, build relationships with C-level executives, and generate new business leads.
• Strategic Oversight: Supervise tactical activities, develop talent, and support business growth and succession planning.
• Partner Performance: Monitor existing partners, assess business performance, and take corrective actions when necessary.
• Contract Negotiation: Secure favorable and profitable agreements with both new and existing partners.
• Product Launches: Assist in introducing new products and programs tailored to regional markets.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), regulations, and Enhanced Due Diligence standards.
• Commercial Payments Assessment: Provide recommendations on best practices, product strategies, and sales training for partnerships across the Americas.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends and competitive activity, providing feedback to leadership.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% for client engagement and partnership development.

📝 Additional Expectations

Successful candidates will need to complete a language assessment to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English.

🎓 Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
• Minimum of 8 years in business development, sales, marketing, or relationship management within the payments industry
• At least 5 years of experience with commercial credit cards
• Fluent in Spanish and English

🌟 Preferred Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in business development or related fields in payments
• 6+ years working with commercial credit cards
• People management skills
• Experience collaborating with key market players in North and Latin America

🌍 Location & Compensation

Capital One is open to remote work for this role, with salary ranges as follows:

• Remote (any location): $187,300 – $213,700
• Riverwoods, IL: $187,300 – $213,700

This position is also eligible for performance-based incentives, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives (LTI), which may be discretionary or non-discretionary.
