A renowned global outdoor gear company in Kent, WA is seeking a skilled Japanese-speaking Assistant Operations Manager to support their US and Canadian operations. This full-time, direct-hire position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits for qualified candidates.

About the Role

As the Assistant Operations Manager, you will collaborate with directors and headquarters managers in Japan to oversee business and office operations across North America. Fluency in more than Business-Level Japanese is essential, and the role requires strong management experience within corporate settings.

Note: This position is onsite only — no WFH or Hybrid options.

Key Details

• Location: Kent, WA
• Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
• Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 (possibly up to $120,000 based on experience and education)

Responsibilities 📋

• Supervise office operations and staff
• Coordinate communication with HQ and President
• Manage payroll, benefits, and employee records
• Develop relationships with internal and external customers
• Arrange cargo recovery and coordinate with shippers and suppliers
• Handle bookings, rate negotiations, and gather customer information
• Monitor shipments through to completion
• Generate reports on costs and performance
• Perform additional duties as needed

Who We’re Looking For 🔍

• Minimum 10+ years of leadership or senior management experience
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related fields
• Business proficiency in both Japanese and English
• Strong knowledge of business operations and financial reports
• Experience with ERP or Freight Management Systems is a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong math and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills and cultural adaptability
