Program Overview

- Duration: 7-week program
- Compensation:
- Bilingual Assistant - $17.57/hour
- Lead Bilingual Assistant - $20.85/hour
- Benefits: Lodging, meals, and access to Middlebury College facilities

About the Program
This immersive program combines cultural experiences with rigorous daily classroom instruction. Staff members play vital roles in organizing the school's academic and non-academic activities, supporting students, and collaborating with faculty under the supervision of the School's leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities are grouped into seven broad areas, with some tasks involving all Summer Staff (*). Here’s an overview:
1. Program Ambassador 🌟
- Serve as a primary in-language contact for students and faculty.*
- Engage with students outside of class, providing tutoring, encouragement, and support.*
- Promote commitment to the Language Pledge and a rigorous learning environment.*
- Represent the School and Middlebury community as an official ambassador.*
2. Student Life 🏡
- Act as a representative of the School in dorms and social spaces, especially evenings and weekends.*
- Reside in dorms, provide guidance, and organize social activities.*
- Respond to emergencies and direct students to appropriate resources.*
3. Co-curricular Activities & Events 🎉
- Facilitate cultural programs and coordinate with campus offices.*
- Design and execute cultural events, assist with hosting guests.*
- Support faculty and students during lectures and performances.*
- Coordinate inter-school activities and participate as crowd managers.*
4. Tutoring & Pedagogical Support 📚
- Assist students with homework, grammar, pronunciation, and conversation practice.*
5. Technology Support 💻
- Provide IT support for faculty, guests, and students.*
- Train faculty on curricular technology and manage School's tech equipment.*
- Support technical needs at events, including audio-visual setups.*
6. Communication & Media 📰
- Engage with students and faculty via email, social media, website, and print.*
- Create and edit web content, publications, and media.*
- Manage photography, videography, and translations of official documents.*
7. School Office Operations 🗂️
- Manage the School office and serve as an in-language point of contact.*
- Assist with scheduling events and activities.*
Qualifications & Requirements ✅
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; advanced degrees a plus.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Hebrew and English (oral & written).
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse age groups and levels.
- Initiative, responsibility, and team collaboration skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
