Position Details

  • Location: Main Office, Willowbrook Blvd., Wayne, New Jersey
  • Salary: $43,000.00 per year

Job Description & Summary

The CPSAI Assessment Counselor is responsible for conducting substance use assessments for DCP&P caregivers and coordinating suitable referrals for treatment, ensuring quality care and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly complete all assigned tasks within established timeframes and demonstrate reliability with consistent follow-up
  • Adhere to work schedules as negotiated with supervisors
  • Maintain a professional attitude and cooperative behavior with colleagues
  • Seek timely consultation from supervisors and report relevant issues promptly
  • Plan and coordinate all substance abuse services, monitoring compliance
  • Keep DCP&P informed of client status according to CPSAI guidelines and provide necessary notifications for signatures
  • Complete reports promptly and obtain DCP&P signatures on relevant forms, providing copies as needed
  • Prepare Progress Notes (including Initial Assessment Notes) and communicate effectively with clients and DCP&P case conferences
  • Submit monthly tracking forms to the Administrative Assistant within the first week of each month
  • Enter referrals into NJSAMS upon receipt, updating for level of care changes and discharge accordingly

Core Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Substance Use Disorders
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree, or CADC certification
