Job Summary 🎯

We are seeking a Bilingual Appointment Coordinator for a pediatric practice. Your role will involve answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments based on patient needs, and serving as the first point of registration within the Duke Health System. You will coordinate various duties related to clinic visits, studies, and procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 📝

  • Review and coordinate appointment requests, determining appropriate services, providers, and settings.
  • Identify the correct patient in Maestro Care; verify demographic and insurance information.
  • Notify patients of co-payment requirements and outstanding balances.
  • Schedule appointments according to provider preferences.
  • Inform patients of appointment times and locations.

Job Eligibility Requirements 🎓

  • Knowledge of basic grammar and math principles typically gained through high school education.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in direct communication and service to the public, preferably in healthcare.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple tasks or activities effectively.
  • Call center experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic PC and data entry skills.
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette and medical terminology is a plus.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow instructions tactfully while maintaining effective relationships.
  • Capable of applying departmental policies related to patient verification, payments, and recordkeeping.

Job Hours ⏰

The position offers day shifts, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
