Role Overview: Banking Associate
The Banking Associate serves as a trusted banking professional, vital to delivering TD’s Brand promise at our store locations. This role involves executing daily banking transactions, providing advice, and educating customers to help them achieve their financial goals.
Key Responsibilities & Scope
- Processing transactions, opening accounts, and educating clients on banking products and services.
- Building trust through educational content, consultative support, and proactive insights.
- Using TD's systems to deepen customer relationships through advice and guidance.
- Identifying opportunities to promote products/services and referring clients as needed.
- Handling banking transactions on the teller line and digital platforms.
- Servicing customer needs, including account management, card issues, and digital banking support.
- Connecting with customers via outreach, appointments, and lead management activities.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: 1 year of customer interaction (volunteering, education, military preferred)
- Customer service skills and teller experience are a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Training: Complete Teller and platform training upon hire.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Notary License (preferred but not required)
Customer Accountabilities
- Providing legendary customer service through transactions, education, and referrals.
- Building and maintaining customer relationships with product knowledge and active listening.
- Managing wait times and scheduling client meetings efficiently.
- Representing the first point of contact for customer inquiries and walk-in traffic.
- Supporting the Bank’s customer service strategy and compliance with policies.
- Completing all required regulatory, compliance, and training requirements.
Shareholder & Operational Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with regulations like the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
- Processing transactions accurately, managing cash drawers, and safeguarding assets.
- Following all policies for account servicing, authentication, and control procedures.
- Acting as a Dual Control agent when required and adhering to open/close procedures.
Team & Physical Requirements
Team Engagement: Contributing positively, collaborating, and embracing a culture of inclusion.
