📄 Job Description
The Banking Associate is a key professional role responsible for accurately completing banking transactions and providing educational support on our products and services to help customers achieve their financial goals. This role reflects TD’s brand promise at the store level.
🔍 Depth & Scope of Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions, open new accounts, and educate customers on banking products/services.
- Build trust through educational content, consultative support, and proactive insights.
- Engage customers using TD's systems to deepen relationships and provide guidance.
- Identify customer financial needs and promote relevant products, referring to specialists as needed.
- Handle daily banking transactions on the teller line or platform, educating customers on related tools and services.
- Service clients in various capacities, including account openings/closings, debit/credit issues, regulation E, and digital banking.
- Lead customer outreach efforts via calls, SMS, and appointments to foster ongoing relationships.
🎓 Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience working with customers (volunteering, education, military experience acceptable)
- Customer service skills preferred
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Teller experience and completion of Teller training preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Effective problem-solving and prioritization abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Notary License (preferred)
🧑💼 Customer Accountabilities
- Deliver legendary customer service, promote TD products, and educate clients.
- Build and maintain customer relationships through active listening and product knowledge.
- Manage wait times and schedule client meetings effectively.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, facilitating traffic and resolutions.
- Support the Bank's customer service strategy and drive referrals.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete all compliance-related training and internal/external audits promptly.
🌍 Shareholder & Operational Accountabilities
- Minimize risks by adhering to regulations like the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
- Process transactions accurately, including account maintenance and cash handling.
- Follow policies for customer authentication, open/close procedures, and cash drawer management.
- Act as Dual Control agent when required, maintaining security and compliance.

- Perform sedentary and multiple tasks regularly.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and operating office equipment.

- Travel: Occasional domestic; no international travel required.
