Job Description:
The Banking Associate is a professional role dedicated to delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location. You will be responsible for accurately completing daily banking transactions, offering advice, and educating customers on products, services, and tools to support their financial goals. 💰
Depth & Scope:
- Handle a variety of tasks including processing customer transactions, opening accounts, and educating customers on banking products
- Build trust through educational content, consultative support, and proactive insights
- Use TD's systems and tools to deepen customer relationships with advice and guidance
- Identify customer needs and promote relevant products and services, referring to specialists when necessary
- Service banking needs including account openings/closings, card issues, and digital banking support
- Develop customer relationships through lead management activities such as outreach, appointments, and referrals
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of customer service experience (volunteering, education, military experience preferred)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Previous Teller experience is preferred
- Complete Teller and platform training upon hire
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Notary license is a plus
Customer Accountabilities:
- Deliver legendary customer service through transactions, education, and product recommendations
- Build and nurture customer relationships by understanding needs and offering solutions
- Manage wait times and help coordinate customer appointments
- Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries and service resolutions
- Support the bank’s customer service strategy and drive referrals
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including audit responses
Shareholder Accountabilities:
- Process operational activities following policies like the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act
- Accurately handle transactions such as account opening/closing, deposits, check cashing, and card updates
- Maintain cash drawer security and accuracy, following authentication and control procedures
- Follow all open/close and dual control procedures to ensure compliance and security

- Participate in performance and development activities
- Act as a brand champion and collaborate with colleagues
- Seek continuous improvement and provide high-quality service in every customer interaction
- Support an inclusive, diverse workplace environment
- Mentor and train newer colleagues, when appropriate
Physical Requirements:
Tasks include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and operating office equipment, with occasional lifting, squatting, bending, and reaching. Travel is occasional domestically, with no international travel expected. The role involves continuous concentration and quick responses, adhering to safety and ergonomic standards. 🚶♂️
